Went for a walk in the Tucson desert today. Very uneventful...boring even. But, the fact that it dipped below 100 degrees in October was occasion enough to spend some quality time outside with my son. Didn't get much, except for some nice views of Tucson, the brave little fellow below and a decent view of the Catalina Mountain range. I don't like to shoot in the mid-day sun, but that's the only time I could get out today... Thanks for looking.
Some cactus for Martha36 I promised her (not macro though...next time when the sun's lower) ![]() ...and this brave little guy that let me get about a foot away. ![]() ...better luck next time (sigh)

I think that was pretty good luck! Love the big sky in the first shot - and the cactus. Or cacti? I've only been down to Tucson a few times - for Rockies spring training when we were living out in Wyoming. But I miss the sky and the desert and the wide open vistas. Some of my first photos i ever took were actually in Saguaro Nat'l Park down there!

I love the Arizona Desert (in the Spring) just kidding, Theres always something to shoot, be it a pin cushion cactus or a lizard or a coyote. The springs are special though.
Nice job on the lizard, he's a handsome fellow. Thanks for sharing these Michael.

I can't say I enjoy the desert like some do, I much prefer where I was in South Africa, where the weather is much like here, but without the extreme heat. These are really nice shots. I do love to see other viewpoints of where I live.

Actually your first photo is pretty good considering the mid-day sun. The sky and clouds are beautiful!

Don't you hate how working for a living eats into "golden hour" picture time? I know I do, but the itch has to be scratched, so we get out at lunch and do what we can. I took the time to view your shots large. I enjoyed your splendid view of the Arizona desert. I love the big sky and open country. Also the detail on the lizard is outstanding. I'm glad I got to see these.

Very nice. Love the vastness/color of the first one and the clarity/detail of the 2nd one.
