Default Portrait practice at the playground

As usual, my daughter is a very willing model! I tried to pay more attention to composition than I usually am inclined to do. I was pretty happy with the results.

I've been trying for weeks to get an in-focus shot of Julia on the swing!

Interesting compositions! I like Julia on the swing. You caught her flat out and having fun. The one looking down the slide is very creative, too. Hard to choose, but I think I might like your second best. like the light in her hair and the spectal highlights (I like to call them sparklies) in the background.

You did a wonderful job on the composition. Great DOF in all of them. The second one is just sweet and adorable. Nice work. Nice to have such an adorable and willing model!

Splendid! Excellent composition! If this is what you're going to do for the school, you nailed it, Martha. Any parent would be thrilled to have these types of shots of their child. I am continually impressed with the quality of your work! Is this more 200mm work?

Jim

Thanks! I actually showed them to a friend and now she wants me to take pictures of her daughter on Friday. And I'm happy for the practice. I was actually using the 35-105, and I threw on a warming filter I've had for 11 years and never used before.

So sweet. I like them all, but #2 stands out with the whispy hair and I love #4 with the swing.

Beautiful pictures Martha. I think #2 is my favourite as I love those casual type 'portrait' shots, but I also love the colour and composition of #1 balancing the two sides of the image as you have. But then again, I love the energy and display of fun in the swing shot (yes - I know what you mean about the focus issue...), and the view down the tube is great too... It's not fair - they're all great.
Well done and TFS

Thanks for all the kind words. Julia loves to model. My son hates it, which is why there is never a picture of him!
