Default Baby Gorilla at Zoo

I took this last week at Amsterdam Zoo. I cant make my mind up whether the plants at the front of the photo distract or draw you into the photo. What do you think???

The 1st thing I noticed were the eyes and face, not the plants. (And what a great face!)

I do think the plants are just a bit of a distraction, but what else could you do? You did a very nice job getting a clear look at most of the face and all of the eyes.

Good work. Nice and sharp, too.

I agree, the eyes were what I saw first, awesome shot! You captured a shot of this guy in his natural environment (well, "man-made natural"!) - the plants are part of his home. I don't find them distracting, just part of his life.

I especially love the simplicity of the colors - green, black and his amber eyes.

I don't think they are a distraction at all, I have a similar photo of a deer with a small tree limb across it's nose but the eyes a very visible. This is a very good picture!

Technically, I believe most would think plants distract. However, I believe they add a sense of "curiosity" to the picture... Curiosity: maybe, not the best word to describe the feeling!

Love this shot. I don't think the plants at the front distract anything. If at all, I think it complements everything.

While I think that the plants could be a tiny bit of a distraction, you did a fantastic job, the first thing I saw were the eyes. And actually the plants make this shot more "natural" looking I think, not a zoo type photo at all. TFS

I think the plants in the foreground add great depth to the shot. I like it a lot...the green and the black work really well together. Thanks for sharing!
