We grew these flowers in our backyard this year. They are called Mexican Sunflowers and they're gorgeous! I asked my daughter what we should do for the self portrait this week. She came up with the pose, I came up with the silhouette.

Naeno, you need to save this one and savor it in years to come. To have parternered together in this shot, from the planting of the seed to the harvest of the shot is something special. What am I thinking??? I'm writing to a mom...you're way ahead of me on this one, anyway!!

love the red gradient in the background. plus the pic is soo warm. you can imagine the face and how you are looking at her even though its all black.
