This is from wandering around Paris, taking pictures of random strangers. I was wondering if I have gone a bit too far with this one? Would appreciate your comments!

Your photo is not attached? I don't see an image in your post.

Welcome to DPS! I think anything goes in Paris...at least fashion-wise! Don't even get me started with Amsterdam! Nice shot! I think she'd be flattered! Thanks for sharing!

In the USA it varies from state to state law, but basically if a person is in public, in a public place, or in a place open to the public, everyone is fair game so you don't have to have their permission to photograph them or for them to have knowledge that you're taking their picture.

The same is not necessarily true for objects (non-people, like works of art) in some public places such as museums or archive buildings. In the case of government buildings most records, statuary, paintings, etc. are available under open records laws, but there is a procedure to follow, so you should check.

Actually, I think you double posted. I see two submissions exactly alike.

I was out of town for a while and I just read your comment. Thanks for taking the time to give some information. I think I am going to read on the laws on the internet.

See you later!
