This windmill sits on the very edge of the lava rock face in Oia, Santorini. It looks stunning at anytime of day.

Hello Glayva! This is a great capture; Ive never seen a windmill like this one; I don't see any canvas, but they must have to set the sails so to speak when they want the wind mill to turn. Lovely composition.
Thanks for shairng this Michael

Beautiful! Excellent composition. the white against the blue of the ocean and then some red flowers to put it all together and really make it pop.

What a lovely location and picture. I like how you've captured the shadows and highlights, and the these together with the white of the lighthouse and brown of the roof and sails contrast beautifully against the sea and the sky. The flowers punctate the whole thing and the picture is complete, excellent job Glayva

Excellent composition, Glayva. That's a postcard shot! The flowers really pop. I'd love to go to Greece someday. Gotta find some way of drugging my wife, though. She won't fly over water, so all of our vacations are land-locked to the continental US. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks guys for your lovely comments. The windmill is no longer used. In fact, I don't think there are any on the island of Santorini that are still working. If you look at yesterday's posting of my dusk shot, it is the windmill in the top left of the picture.
