how did you get your sky so blue? I can tell from the halo around the buildings that this was an after effect.....a really nice one at that. Could you reveal your steps in post? Thanks....good work.

Mike, your pictures have the same energy and enthusism as your commentary. Good stop action motion in the first and yes thats a lot of red, a slightly unconvential picture of Evie, but the lanterns are the thing as we celebrate the Chinese new year. I can't look at a money picture without thinking about Pink Floyds Dark Side album, Money, it's a gas, grab that cash with both hands and make a stash., and finally the impressive coliseum, this was also the name of a 60s rock and roll band. Four pictures is never enough to capture an event like this but you've done a great job, I'm all set now and waiting for the parade to start

thank you steve.
there is so much energy in the big cities especially in London and around Trafalger Sq. I had forgotten that there is so much in this area. I was even looking in a shop window and suddenly realised that i had worked in there many years ago when it was a bookshop, Charing Cross, Maiden Lane. Thanks for the comment about the first shot, i was thinking soooo much red besides the lanterns, whilst lurking on the st corner i spotted 50yrds away a woman in a red jacket coming towards me with a friend, she passed by the phone box,The way my camera was set i knew i would get some motion it was a bonus that she was perhaps chinese. The money exchange photo was not originally what i wanted as i was looking at the buliding furthur away, then i realised that it belonged to the notoruius food chain, the two went toghether, Money so they say is the root of all evil today lol!!
I remember the Coliseum the gutarist eludes me at the moment but i will probably remember later.
I am saving the One and Other photos for the 1000th post possibly coming your way soon,
thanks for the thought provoking comments and man your train shots were fantastic
mike

I really like all the shots but particularly chinatown - funny that I have been there so many times but never been there when all the lanterns are up

Hi Hayward
thanyou my friend, I was glad i found this st, i knew Chinatown was around here somewhere. Anyway it was a colour day for me for obvious reasons. The sky was very blue but i kinda wanted to intensify it a bit more especially around the buildings as you had mentioned
thanks for commenting
cheers mike

Hey thanks skyline
i was focusing on the lamp post determined to get some clarity when i spotted the woman in red lol!!. I havent been doing a lot of colour recently so i feel that i may have over done the blue around the buildings a tadge as their is some noise there-we live and learn
thanks for commenting
mike

hi mike hows things?
me too buidings are cool and there have been some great shots on DPS, just thought i would give it a go in colour for a change. It would be such a crime to convert the photos to b/w with Chinatown. anyway it would not have worked really. More to come at some point
thanks my friend.

Hi Hossiam
thanks for posting and asking. Yup it was a little post editing in CS3. I have just started to take a few more colour photos and i wanted to just intensify the skies around the buildings. I used bridge in CS3 photoshop and used the blue colour sliders although a little noisy its something i will work on
thanks
mike
