A copper mine processing plant owned by the Kennecott Corporation and operated between 1922-27 located in the Wrangell St Elias mountains of Alaska.

Ruth Glacier runs right through Kennecott and tours still take you out onto the ice

A speeder was a two seater used to transport miners along the tracks, some were pump operated and some were motorized.

This kettle glacier spilled out the remains of this mountain several thousand feet above the mine area. This picture was taken while on a trail system that leads high above the processing plant to the five mines that made up the Kennecott Mine.

Excellent shots UpNorth. I really like them. That last one almost looks volcanic but, it's a glacier eh?

Beautiful scenery. Can you get up close and personal at that mine, or is it pretty much closed to the public? It would be nice to get some perspective shots closer to the main building. Good stuff Up North.

Four high quality pictures and I like them all, the second one though is stunning. Ruth Glacier, can you imagine what it must be like to have that view from your lounge window, great post UNPs

Hello UpNorth, All of those shots win the prize, not 1 any nicer than the rest. Good shooting. I bet it gets pretty cold up on top though! Thanks for the view of your part of the world.
