Default Abstracts & A Beautiful Sky

Took the boy to another park today, the weather has been amazing! The sun was setting fast, but I got a few decent shots in. The boys were moving too fast for me to get any really good shots of them without a flash, so I focused on some of the playground equipment and the sky. The first three are abstracts, the last is a sky shot.

One of those rocker toys. This one was a two-seater shaped like an old airplane.

Rockin'

This is one of those strange new basketball funnel thingies with three spouts. I suppose it's to help them train their reaction and timing or something. Either way, made for a neat shot IMHO.

Hoops

A funky something-or-other made to look like a lava flow or water run-off. You can climb it or slide down it.

Rock Slide

A beautiful set of feathered clouds catching the last rays of the sun.

Evening Sky

Thanks again Hayward. Yeah, they do have some strange, but functional, designs these days. I remember when it was nothing but monkey bars, swings, and that death-trap merry-go-round!

Hey Jim, Just say the word "abstract" and I am so there! These are great. One thing I like about the first, aside from the strong design, is the shine. The bold shapes of the second is terrific. Love the flow of the third and, like the first, I like the shiny quality. Soft sky is a lovely finish to your set. Aren't abstracts fun?

Great shots! I especially like the first - the green is really striking against the neutral background

First one reminds me of the movie Robots...I see 2 eyes and a nose...oh yeah, and don't forget the dimples! Nice set. Lots of fun things at the park to photograph.

Interesting shots, Jim. I'm amazed at all the new things they have in playgrounds these days. the lava flow thing looked really cool. A very nice shot of the sky to end the day...

Thanks Maneef. The first shot's ISO was 800, the second was 200, but I added some soft focus in post to give it that hazy effect, next shot was at 400, and the sky shot at 64, but I did some tweaking in post that added some noise.

LOL, I love that movie. Yeah, it does sort of look like something you'd see in it. Thanks.

Thanks Fred. I hope to get more evening shots in the future. It's getting darker earlier, so I can work with the time frame a little more now.

Thanks Mike. Like I said to Hayward earlier, they've come a long way from swings, slides, and that dastardly merry-go-round!
