Default Harmless visitor to the city

Friends of mine returned some loaned camping gear with an immigrant from over 400km [250 miles] away. I hope his rough looks are enough to stave off the pesky city birds eager to make an easy meal of any country bumpkin!

This fella was quite happy to pose on a sheet of white card while I knocked out a few standard "portraits".

As a movie, When Pbdweeeebie Met Hairy, probably won't make it at the box office. But as a post on DPS, bravo! He's a beauty. Most folks would shriek, you know. What do you say, instead? "Break out the light box it's a photo op!"

Great shots. The spider obviously likes you or else it wouldn't have traveled that far with you. Maybe keep the little thing as a pet so that you won't have to worry about city birds eating it. If you could get that close to it for photos then it isn't aggressive. Just an idea, I have had a few tarantulas myself and they are low maintenance pets. Again nice shots.

A pleasure MIchael. After I settled down, I also came to think of him as a looker..........but only after a call to the spider club to confim an id.

To be honest LindyAnna, my neighbour - a 70 year old thoroughbred English lass - insisted I make work of it. And these pics are thanks to her encouragement.

When it crawled across the bonnet of the car as I drove down the road, trust me, I was not that charmed.......at first. After a short photo shoot I released him into the garden.............and let nature continue its path.
