Default Peeking under the hood

Here's some engine shots from a few hot rods and customs... I didn't take notes when I shot them, and since they are not birds and I am not bound by the " Birder Code of doing our best to identify the species in the photo ", so I'm not providing the cubic inch, horsepower, how many barrels the carbs have, not even make model and year.. Just some really shiney machines

It is pretty obvious that builders of these engines are passionate about it, like we are with our cameras, losta time and creative ideas .

this was shot months ago and at night.. I've been promised another chance to shoot this truck during the day.. can't wait for the opportunity

IMG_3451

From a car show.. I don't know how big these carbs are .. but they certainly were not built for high mileage

IMG_7764

this car belongs to a friend of mine.. he put it together from the frame rails ( start of the chassis build- the first step in assembly ) to the end.. it's won quite a few awards ,

IMG_7821
might get another chance with this car too .. the gold paint, bright sun and chrome was a tough challange for me.

this car was Sweeeet ! .. the paint alone was amazing.. the workmanship and details under the hood were so good it had a crowd of people around it constantly.. I sure it won an award or two at the show

Man, it is tough shooting at a car show the first time. screening all the shots from that day, I learned a few things about what works and what doesn't . I had a lot of fun there , Next time I'll go alone and spend more time and not feel rushed ( I went with some friends )

thanks for taking a look

Vin

They look hot alright - good shots of the engines - I like the look of the last one - the Chev. Cheers, Vin

Wow VIn! From birds and wind power to some sweet horsepower! I am such a car girl. I guess I would have to be if you knew my hubby. These are beautiful. My favorite color is CHROME and you captured lots of it. I remember your friends truck and I have been waiting for your second chance as well. I will be keeping my eyes open. I love #2 with the duel carbs. And that red in #4 is so rich and deep. Great job!

Wow love all of these cars. The shine of the chrome and the colours of the paint jobs are awesome. #3 is my fave with the gold and black chequer and the chrome.

These are well executed captures Vin! You made them interesting and handled the exposure problems very well. I wish I was mechanically inclined, but alas I'm not. I used to change my oil and spark plugs and even transmission fluid and filter, but now it's Jiffy lube and the service center. l.o.l
Thanks for sharing these

Great pictures of great cars.
Vin, these have been an excellent diversion from the bird pictures and your portfolio now bulges with work of the highest quality. Good work bro, Steve

ps, in case I forget;
have a great time at the wedding which if memory serves is later this month

Love all that muscle and really nice captures under difficult conditions. If I ever get to New York, we can hook up and have a day where we can feed off each other's energy without having to contend with those that have no idea of what an important obsession we have
