Another fine shot! Thanks for mooning us again!!

I still haven't been able to get mine as sharp as yours using my 80-400, but still trying. I'm starting to think this lens just isn't as sharp as I once thought...even at f/11. Thanks for sharing!

Yeah, Arlon's the moon guru! Check out his "How I did It" thread. It'll help!

Since the moon was still out there, I grabbed my 80-400 and tried a shot with it. Actually looks pretty good for 370mm Look at the linked shot below the picture for exif data.

D90
80-400mm VR @ 370mm
ISO 200
1/500s
f11

Shot on a tripod, 5 sec. self timer, manual focus, VR OFF, under exposed about 2 stops, contrast increased, sharpened 0.8 pixels @100% in PS Elements 5

Lots of folks use too large a sharpening radius.

I shot 12 shots refocusing between each shot MANUALLY, out of the 12 shots, I got two I liked.

Yeah...that's about how mine turned out. I was expecting a little sharper edges on the south pole craters (see below) I tweaked mine almost identically...and shot it with the same settings.
