Thumbs up Dog & Leaf

I took these two shots with my new lens (EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM), and I'm happy with the results. I don't think either are spectacular, but I thought I'd share.

The first one is my schipperke, Isabella. She was laying on the bed in our room and I hadn't taken any pictures of her that I was fond of yet. I got this one pretty much as-is. The only PP I did was to crop it to use as a desktop wallpaper.

EXIF:
Shutter: 1/60
Aperture: 2.8
ISO: 400
Focal Length: 100mm
Flash: Fired (pop-up on-camera flash)

This second one caught my eye while I was outside having a cigarette. This was taken at night. Tried a couple using the flash, but I wasn't happy with either of them, so I tried it with the flash off. Feeling a bit lazy, I didn't want to go inside to get the tripod so I attempted to handhold the shot, which was a bit tough, seeing as the lens isn't IS, but I did manage to get a good one. Once again, the only PP on this one was cropping for my monitor ratio.

EXIF:
Shutter: 1/13
Aperture: 2.8
ISO: 1600
Focal Length: 100mm

Default Great Leaf Shot.

Great leaf shot. Well focused and clear. Really like it.

Looks like some nice glass you have there. Enjoy that new lens and looking forward to seeing more.

I love the water drops on the leaf. And you did a great job of capturing the expression on your dogs face, which can be pretty difficult to do on a black dog. Nice job. TFS.
