Hayward my friend, you got me on the first pic! i have to scroll back to look for that bird that they were talking! twas a clever shot indeed! love the set and the cricket just landed at the right place...where he wants you to take picture of him! lovely!

Wow Hayward .. the first is such a great capture of the heron, the second stunning in it's capture of the time of year, and the cricket's a bonus, the also show themselves this time of year .. very nice ..

I really like the shot of the hide-and-seek heron. It blends in so well with the grasses. I am feeling a tug of sadness as our summer flowers are saying goodbye and the dull browns of winter will be here soon. I'm glad your cricket was given a "windshield reprieve" and will be around to help finish off the fall.

I am another who had to do a double-take to see that heron in the first shot. Great capture on all of your images Hayward!

I am fascinated by the way you used accurate DoF to isolate your subject in the 2nd shot. Thanks for sharing.

Great set of photos..i had to look twice to see the bird so well camouflaged against the leaves...the cricket looks like hes suspended in air...and the flowers are gorgeous..we're lucky we can look back on these photos until the spring comes again..thank you for sharing these.
