Default Macro Butterflies

taken on a recent trip to the Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens in Richmond, VA where they have a spectacular selection of exotic butterflies. How could I not take pictures?

Exotic and spectacular. Very nice captures.
They look like flying flowers.
Thanks for sharing

Beautiful, I love the colors! I like the second one.

I went to a enclosed butterfly park on my holiday, but it was so moist in there that my lens started to get a haze. It was also dark and I didnt had a tripod, so all my shots turned out with some noise.

I especially like the first two with the beautiful colours of the butterflies plus the colour in the nicely done DOF background.

Gaba-gal: I think I was lucky it was a pretty low humidity day because they were misting the enclosure every 15 min or so. On a high humidity day, the enclosure would be very moist indeed. I did get a wet lens once or twice when I was aiming up and mis-timed the misting. It was very hard to set up and keep a tripod on the constantly moving butterflies. That's why most of the good shots are of the resting butterflies. My butterflies in flight shots were noticeably lower quality. Still trying to figure out how to get sharp action shots.
