The rain finally let up, and I'm almost over the case of bronchitis. So I made my way back to the woods!
There are some trees there with pods of berries. I've never seen anything like it before. I hope you all like them, too! ![]() ![]() I'm definitely learning how unsteady my hands are! I took these with my 70-300mm Sigma APO Macro. Both images taken with the same settings: Exposure Time (1 / Shutter Speed) 1/100 second ===> 0.01 second Lens F-Number / F-Stop ƒ/5.6 ISO Speed Ratings 400 There's a fairly thick canopy, so there's not often much available light. |

the first picture is the best but it is still alittle blurry, i would try using a faster shutter speed and smaller f# to make the berry really stand out, as well as manuel focus--i think you could have had the berry in more detail. The composition is great

Sadly it's a slow lens. I can't give it any better aperture than it had when I took the pic.
Also, I wasn't alone, and I hate being rushed. Next time, I'll try for better focus. But it gets difficult when you look over and everyone else is out of sight because they think, "just snap the picture!" Edit: the only fast lens I have is my 50mm, which won't focus so close to anything. But I am saving for better. Last edited by Eastree; 09-27-2009 at 11:50 PM. |

Great shots of unusual berries I have never seen before. I like the reflection in the drip in the first shot. Great dof and well done with the lens you did have.
