Some months ago I purposed to do a Chili Series for Michael, aka Chewy's Dad, partly to return a favor but mainly I hoped he would enjoy seeing images from his childhood, when he lived in Arizona. To that purpose I took several photos in my neighborhood which is somewhat unique in that the buildings in these photos date from the late 1800's and were once part of an Army garrison. These buildings were built of thick adobe bricks which were well insulated for the intense heat of Arizona summers. The strings of chilies are called Ristras and are commonly used as a door decoration. Michael, I imagine that Curved-bill Thrasher would have been a familiar sound and the ground squirrel a common sight.

Linda, every time I open up one of your threads, I know I'm in for a treat. I love your stories made of beautiful photos, and your words to complete those stories.
Your posts are my eye candy! Thanks for these - I can't decide which I like the best, although the one with the pottery pitcher's simplicity just draws my eye.

Hi Linda, this is such a great set and the explanations really make it. I have an old horse shoe, that just lies around the house, think I'll put it on the front door. Thanks for this post.

Thank You for your wonderful Post Lindyanna! You Honor me!
I remember the Chili's well and I really like the area where you live, the old spanish haciendas have a charm that modern architecture can never replace. The Ground squirrel and the Thesher are old friends, I used to have to release the Ground squirrels after our cat would bring them in to play with. I like the last one, it reminds me that we don't rely on Luck, but Grace, Which is Gods unmerrited favor.! Thanks for sharing these Michael.
