Default Petition to have Darren Rowse "Share His Shots"

We've all been looking at each other's pictures, and it's been a great experience sharing with all of you. I was trying to come up with an original idea about how to pay tribute to Darren to show appreciation for all his hard work maintaining this site. As a webmaster for a few sites, I know how much work it is.

If you would, please reply to this thread showing a picture of what you believe to be your best work.....work that is a result of something you learned on DPS. Please also explain what it was you learned to create the shot you posted.

I'd also ask Darren to show us some of his work. Please pass the word!!

Thanks, DR, and keep up the great work!!!

Here's one I'm proud of. I learned how to better compose the shot, and control the DOF to achieve the dramatic effect I was aiming at.

Thanks for this wonderful site, Darren.

I've learned the basics of photography and the more advanced aspects. This is my favorite photo thus far, which is an example of my learning posing, composition, studio lighting, shooting on full manual for the correct exposure in-camera, and a bit of post-processing.

Come on, Darren, show us some of your stuff!!!!!!!!!!

I've learned to slow down and think before I shoot. Be alert for diagonal lines. Tripods are good.

The biggest lesson I've learned as a member is " Purpose " the "what am I looking at" and " why am I looking at it " in my images. And that it takes time to develop consistency.

I have many favorites.. but I picked this one as tribute to Darren and the community

I've learnt to use manual mode to get a shot like this. and most important I've made many friends here who share the same passion to share and improve their photography

Soft Landing

Thanks Darren and DPS

Great shot of the lizard, Linda.

PS...I'm probably going to bump this up to the first page a few times to get a good response, in the hopes that the moderators will see it and pass it along. Also, so that more folks will post their best work! Thanks. Jim
