Default A trip back in history

Not getting around much because of the post surgical boot I'm wearing on my driving foot. Hoping I only have another week and a half of this torturous limited mobility.
However, during the Labor day weekend a friend and I stopped at the Edison/Ford Estate in Ft. Myers, FL on our way back from Naples. Edison and Ford, fast friends, shared an estate there - Edison spent the most time there than his friend - he even had a "vacation" lab. Ford spent two weeks a year. It's a beautiful piece of land on the Caloosahatchee River.
Here are some shots from our visit.

Giant Banyon Tree - We have them here in Sarasota as well.

This was Henry F's too! I did not know he had such jazzy cars!

Thanks, I love those trees. I need to do a series on them. Each is so different from the others.

Great Shots! I especially liked the first one. I had a friend that had to wear a boot like that, but he drove anyways...... it was very scary riding with him!

Thanks. The first is my favorite as well. I am actually taking off the boot and putting on a shoe to drive back and forth to work each day - 2 miles each way. That's it!

Thanks, Patrick. One of these days I plan to take a drive to your area. Beautiful country, I'm told.

That's a great place to visit. The Banyan trees are amazing. Love the car shots. did you get a chance to see the light bulb in the house that's been in use for about 100 years? they don't make them like that any more!
