Default Loretta Lynn 9/26/2009

I am just leaving Hurricane Mills Tennessee and thought I would post these pics for you all to enjoy until I get home in 8 hours LOL.
Brought my wife down to see Loretta Lynn at her ranch in Tennessee.
These are of Megan Lynn Loretta's granddaughter who is now singing also.

I took over 500 shots yesterday so I will post more once I get back home.

Nicely done, Tony. I love the lighting and the angles you got here.

Great concert shots, Tony. Everything looks spot on. Which lens(es) were you using?

Well that was the problem, the lenses I used. I had the 70-300mm on the XSi and the 50mm 1.8 on the XS.
The 50mm was fine for the lighting but we were in the 14th row and didn't have enough reach.
The 70-300mm had the reach with the 300mm BUT at 300mm I only have 5.6 fstop
So I was shooting:
Camera: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi
Exposure: 0.017 sec (1/60)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 300 mm
Exposure: 0.00
ISO Speed: 1600

DO YOU KNOW what it takes to shoot at 300mm at those settings and NOT get a blurry shot since the lens is DOES NOT have IS.

The concert was at her ranch in Hurricane Mills TN where she has her own covered stage built and the lighting is not as good as what it would have been had it been at a civic center or other venue.
So with everything I was fighting I got a few decent shots out of the show.
We just got home at midnight and I gotta get up for work in 4 hours at 4:30AM ::::BLAAAHH::: Got more pics to upload to flickr might get them done tonight after I get home from work if I don't go right to bed.
I started a few uploading to flickr while I go to bed so I will post them tomorrow or you can hop over to my flickr and take a look.

Wow, great set. I really like the mill shot (flowing great with all the water we've gotten in the last 2 weeks) and the last shot. I love the lighting on her.
