Default Stepping Back In Time....

Tolaga Bay Wharf, New Zealand
Tolaga Bay Wharf, New Zealand
This wharf at 660 metres in length is believed to be the longest pier in the southern hemisphere. At a cost of £60,331, it was built and officially opened on the 22nd November 1929. The windswept cliffs, which looks a bit like sandstone, run along to the side of the wharf and protect it to a degree. A natural blowhole has formed over the years

Wow Pauline, you have put together a wonderful set and all of them are excellent, I love the collages because we get to see much more of your great photographs. The old home on the hillside is a great capture and so too the lighthouse. I keep saying it but you have some lovely scenery over there. Is that Dennis in the first one? Thanks for sharing them Pauline. I always enjoy seeing your work.

Dave.

This is an excellent series of pictures Keenlearner
I also enjoy the use of collages, however, I think your work is too good, just to bulk together like this.
I would rather view each picture in a larger format to really see and enjoy what you saw.

Pauline, this is a delightful set. The wharf must have been really well built to be in such good shape some 80 years later. I love the old family home, such a nice setting, and I never saw a lighthouse I didn't like. thanks for the tour.

Thanks for that Beach. Yes I agree with you about the bunching up of photos, but because all those pics are dealing with the one subject, I feel a bit guilty taking up school space when shown as individual shots...plus you folks out there may get bored LOL. In this case the Lighthouse ones I think show all, but some of the Wharf ones could be shown to greater advantage, singly.

Thanks heaps Mike. East Cape is one very beautiful place, if you're into history and landscapes. Quite a rugged coastline, but very interesting.
