Default Bicycle NSW - Sydney Spring Cycle 2009

These don't stand up to scrutiny but I thought it would be nice to show an annual event that passes by my house every year.

Its a charity event run by Bicycle NSW for the MS (Multiple Sclerosis) Society. There are different starting points around greater Sydney and you ride 40-60km ending in Olympic Park Homebush.

Hope you like them.

That last shot is a nice one! But I think number 2 is hilarious. Thanks for sharing.

yes, I was mostly happy with the last one too. I couldn't quite get the execution right on the others but I'll leave that for one of the critique forums.

I can't say that visiting a porta-loo is my favourite experience either, especially if you have to wait in a long queue

Thats great cause the cyclists and supporters are working for, and I like your pictures, you've captured the fun in the sun atmosphere brilliantly

i like the last one but i feel the shadows of the brakes n all are distracting me
and for such a subject it should be more sharp...
the cyclists in the background could have been shown a little more.. a little more DOF would have done the trick..

hope to see more shots from u..
TFS

Thanks beachcomber. The location is halfway along the course so the cyclist stop for a drink, snack, toilet break....you get the idea. They do look like they're having a lot of fun, especially the mum's and dad's with their kids, as do I shooting the event every year.

thanks manunasi for your comments. I know exactly what your saying. I took a few shots trying to increase aperture. Here is the one (unedited) with the best definition of background cyclists while still maintaining some blur but the trees in the background look like two dinosaurs arguing over a cat (look carefully) and I couldn't crop without removing someones head. The owner of the bike was starting to get a bit peeved so that was the end of experimenting with dof

The last shot is quite amazing, the way the background has blurred it looks really cool.
