Default Lake Michigan

Today I went up to Lake Michigan and spent the day on the beach watching the boats and fisherman, feeding the seagulls and of course taking photos.

Lake Michigan is one of the five Great Lakes of North America, The word "Michigan" is believed to come from the Ojibwa Indian word mishigami, meaning "great water. This of course being a lake is all fresh water...still looks like the ocean to me.

When we left this morning it was drizzling rain and i thought oh no its not a good day to go to the lake but the sun finally came out and it was really nice..lots of people fishing on the wall near the lighthouse.. I thought id better get up there before the cold sets in.

One of the best seagull shots I've ever seen! Well done, and thanks for sharing that one, Angeleyes!

I am so glad the sun came out for you and you made the most of your day. The lake just looks like the ocean and you got some lovely photographs. You captured the seagull so well that one is awesome and I love the boat too. I am so glad that you got to the beach before the cold sets in.

It does look more like an ocean than a lake. All are great shots but the seagull shot is superb. And I like the one of the lighthouse.

This looks like a beautiful location Lorraine with the potential for many return visits.
Its a good set of pictures and unsurprisingly I'm drawn to the seagull picture that I think you've captured particularly well

you can really capture the heart and soul of a bird in flight. All the other pictures are amazing as well, but I especially love seeing your bird pictures! Thank you!
