Default Abstract ?

Would you consider this picture as abstract OR just the seed head of a thistle?

What can you see ?

It is a great capture AgBeard and it could be both, I think a close crop would make a great absract. Nice DoF too.

Dave.

I think it's a very nice photo. While the narrow DoF does make it a bit abstract, I can still tell that it's a thistle. Maybe it's a partial abstract? Regardless of the label, I like it.

Hello SilverBeard - I love the sepia tone that you apply to this photo ..it adds dynamic to it .. it's a very interesting image

Thanks for your kind comments - it's not that I need a label, but just wondered at what point does an image become abstract ?

Hi there Hayward - the sepia tone does have a certain appeal to it, I have to make sure I don't use it too much. Maybe that's a sign of 'miles on the clock' - looking back to the past.

Hi Dave - your just down the A6 or M6 from me

Thanks for you comment - I'm off to see how a closer crop might move the image more towards the abstract. But I guess it's really all 'In the eye of the beholder'

I don't know if it's an abstract exactly, but it's a wonderful Capture and has many possiblities.
Thanks for sharing this
Michael.

Hi Dave

Not sure if this is cropped as much as you were thinking - but it does give more of an abstract feel

HI neighbour (well almost) Yes AG it does give more of an absract feel. I'm glad you gave it a go. Thank you. Now it makes the mind think a little more. Good job my friend.

Dave.
