Thats a lot of mouths to feed, I count seventeen but there could be more, this is a slightly different shot for you and I can imagine if we could just get a little closer then those amazing black wings against the red stone would pop even more than they do now, great location and picture Prime

No, it was a highwall cut along a road and all the crow's landed on the ledge in a row. I waited untill they started to fly to take the pic.

Thanks beach, i was about 150 yards away. I couldn't crop any closer or i would loose a bunch of birds.
I was just playing with some editing techniques on this one. Using layers to selectively saturate---contrast---sharpening----whitebalance various parts of the photo, without doing the whole thing.
For example, this one has 2 different white balances--- one for the top half and one for the bottom half. The rocks on the bottom looked better warmer and the dirt looked better a little cooler, so i did both. It's amaizing what you can do, once you learn a little bit about layers.

Did you ? I certainly have a lot to learn.

I've also been trying to use selective editing to add depth to my photos.

I've come up with the brainstorm of how a scene is viewed.................the forground has the most color - contrast-sharpness- etc, because it is the closest and seen with the most detail. Therefore i've been trying to incorperate that into my photos by adding the most color- detail- sharpness in the forward part of the photo and less and less toward the back.

In this photo , the saturation, contrast, and sharpness it at a higher level and progressively less as you move back.

What do you think???

I also have to be careful that this doesn't draw attention away from the subject though.
