Default First 2 HDR photos

I got bored tonight and downloaded the trial version of photomatrixand made these, I'm going to have to buy the program now lol. click the photos for the full size.

On these did you use three different exposures or just one pic? I love the first pic, great job

I used the same photo for them, just edited each of them how I normally would and then made 5 versions of them by just changing the exposures, then I obvi tone mapped in photomatrix and I redited the final pic in elements 7 and lightroom2 but I think I could get away with just using lightroom2 from now on. Im deff. going to start doing more of these once I buy the actual program to get rid of the water marks because with photos like these I couldn't set of flashes for fill light because it was a competition so you never know who is going to do what and with HDR I don't have as much harsh shadows anymore.

I forgot to say if anyone has tips on how to make those HDR type photos where the person styas a little more realilistic I'd like like some tips, I tried just isolatingthe background and doing it that way but it didn't work in the photo I was doing it too, maybe I just did it wrong.
