![]() Hello, This post is my very first on DPS. I just signed up 2 days ago. What a group. I admit I am intimidated by all the talents present here. I hope to learn from you all. I am always like the art of photography. But it wasn't until 2006 that I was able to seriously start my hobby, with a Canon XTi (400D). This picture of the West Fork of Oak Creek in Sedona, AZ, was taken last year (2008). It is an HDR composite of 3 consecutive shots (-2 EV, 0 EV, +2 EV). My daughter & I were on a hike with friends. I heard so much about this place but that was the first time I was at this place. I remember setting up my tripod on a sand bank. I waited until everyone was out of the way, which allowed me time to set the automatic exposure bracketing mode, then snapped 3 shots. At home, I used Photomatix to combine the 3 exposures. Anyway, I welcome your comments / critiques so I can improve my photographic skills. Thank you.

I love that exact spot on that trail and your photo does it the justice it deserves! Three cheers! So welcome, my fellow Arizonan, to DPS. You've clearly come to the right place. Kick off your shoes and put your feet up--clearly you're going to feel quiet at home. Welcome!
