Default It's so nice when they pose.

Recently while l was trying to take pictures of insects this young kookaburra came and watched me from the power lines. He was nice enough to stay there for awhile, so I could take some photos of him.

Excellent shots, Michele. Very sharp and very clear. His head seems so differently proportioned from the rest of his body. You seem to have gotten almost level with the bird in the last photo, how did you manage that?

Lovely shots Michelle - you have captured the kookaburra beautifully. I did try once to photograph a kookaburra whilst over in WA (Perth) visiting my parents but I only had a cheap point and shoot and didn't do justice to this amazing bird. thanks for sharing them with us. Regards Evan.

He certainly is a young 'un, isn't he - his head is still a bit fluffy. Michelle, they are such beautiful, clear and colourful shots.

These are good Michele, especially the third one, I like the body detail and the swept back hairstyle. These are not easy pictures to get in what looks like bright sunshine, but the kookaburra played nicely and you must be pleased with the results

Thankyou Stryker, it is a very young bird, just out of the nest I would say and that is why he seems to have such a big head. In the last photo he was sitting just outside my lounge room window, very fortunate.

I would say straight out of the nest because his family were calling out to him.

Thankyou Beach, yes I am happy, it was almost mid-day sun and I had to play with the settings on the camera, and the bird just sat there watching. With regards to the swept back hairdo, not jealous are you?
