Default Nikki Sue Nikon's Word of the Day #5 - Moonlight

Moonlight OBX

Moonlight

The Sun, feeling rather proud of himself, said to his wife, the Moon
I've lit and warmed the Earth, it's your turn now, will you follow me soon?

Mr Sun, you're brash and you're bright and full of might
And though I'll follow you, you're not the only light.
Be careful the path you take and what you pursue
You must remember, I'm a reflection of you.
Though my light is borne of that you've sown
I'll take it and shape it, and make it my own.
I'll not be rushed; you'll wait till I'm regally adorned.
Mr Sun said nothing; he'd been properly scorned.

At last she arrived in her splendid beauty
Eager to perform her appointed duty.
The Earth shimmered and sparkled in the night
And the Sun learned his was not the only light.

Hello Mike great photo, of a serene moonlit night. I never thought of doing night photography, but you've perked my interest. Your poem was also well thought out and sets the mood well for the photo. TFS

Michael

Wow once again, beautiful moonlight. The reflection is awesome, try to lighten up the ground a little bit and see if that improves the photo or not.

Good though the photo is, the poetry is far better! Great job on both, Mike.

It is said there are three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth, and the truth here is, this is one great picture. Can I strogly suggest you view this larger size through flickr to fully appreciate how much foreground detail has been captured, including how many stars there are in the sky. Its beautiful Mike

Wow, fabulous shot. I love how there's even a bit of- lens flare? Which is incredible since it's the moon!
