Default What's an Agapanthus?

There's an old anecdote about someone who secured their property with nothing other than a sign that read:

Beware the Agapanthus!!

Apparently they never once had a burglary, even though the only thing intimidating about the Agapanthus is its name!

I have a garden full of Agapanthuses / Agapanthii?? so I guess my place might be safer than I thought

I love the composition, and the dreamily soft background. It's soo soft I've been trying to work out if you shot this indoors or out !

I'd love to see how the shot changes if you bring the beads of water on the front of the flower into focus with slightly more DoF.

Time for me to break out a macro lens and go practice. Thanks for the inspiration.

Thanks The flower was quite a bit in front of anything in the background, so when I shot it close up, the background blurred out very nicely. I think I should this in f2.8, but I'll check and get back to you.

I could use very complicated words, but since my english is bad I'll just say: WOW. Like already said, The composition is good and the details is amazing! keep up the good work (I'll have to buy myself some time taking such a picture like this )

Ha! You can always try Flemish. I should be able to read that

Thank you for the comment and the praise. I've taken about 8500 pictures on my Canon and there are only about 25 pictures (not counting the ones of my kids where sentimental value probably outweighs artism) that I'm comfortable sharing. Take pictures, and then take some more. And then some more. It's a volumes game at the moment, until I can really improve my photography and my hit-ratio

Nice!
The drops give the impression the plant is oozing poison
It's always a good idea to associate a shot with a language/science tip, or vice versa.
Thanks.
