Default First Shot Out of the Box

Picked up a Nikon D5000 on Saturday after much deliberation and the sudden death of our digital point and shoot. Haven't touched an SLR in years, and those were 35mm Canons.

Figured I'm going to be taking more shots of the 'Tank Gang' for the aquarium sites I go to, thought it'd be a good opening shot to see how the Nikon deals with the glass. Shot it with the 200mm lens fully extended, from a different room (had to see what the new toy can do!)

Welcome, I just got a D5000 about a month ago. Be careful, it gets addictive

You mean the 200 or so shots I took on Saturday and Sunday wasn't a fluke?

Been enjoying it so far, thanks!

Here's the next shot where I went for vertical.

Got a couple of the Aussie Rainbows in there nice, and I know I have to get in there and straighten out the heater.
