Default Smoke

While surfing, I ran across some smoke pictures. I thought I'd give it a try.

Inverted in PS

First post, and would like to say this looks like a great place. I'm hear to learn to use my camera and take better pictures.

I know this is "share your shots", I didn't see a critique section..is there one? I'm always open to improving my shots. oh yeah, completely self taught or web taught.

Hi dm, and welcome to dPS!! I'm sure you'll soon be addicted!

Love your smoke shots - it's a technique that I've been wanting to try for ages but not managed to get round to it yet!!

There is a Critique section of the forum - take a look here

Look forward to seeing more of your work about :-)

Roz

Thanks Maneef,

Yes I agree about the more smoke, or at least where it is doing some "dancing".

It took some time to get to the point where I could see the smoke, I'm working on some "working" light that won't get picked up in the picture. I got many where the smoke stream is out of frame or the action is.

Thanks for you help.

You shot into the lamp? Interesting way of trying it, might put that on the list.

I was shooting into a black backdrop, SB800 firing in slave mode and place off to the left.

So much was..focus on incense, then Point & Hope.

Great shots! Some day I'll get creative enough to try something like that myself!
