Default Hummingbird

I finally got a hovering shot of a hummingbird, what I believe is an Anna's Hummingbird.

Anna's Hummingbird

I could sit on my deck and watch these guys all morning. Alas that I don't get paid to sit on my deck, drink coffee, and take pictures.

What an awesome shot! The humming birds from up this way (ruby throated) have headed south now I think. They haven't been around in a couple of weeks; won't see them again until around next May.

Thanks, Mike. Birds are harder to shoot than I thought.

Thank you, Jamfke. I have no idea how many I've thrown out trying to get this one.

Ella1267: Flying hummers? I will bow before you if you can pull that off.

Vin, that's high praise coming from someone who's shots I frequently admire. Thank you.

Shelley S: I think this one and some of his friends are year-round residents. We'll see as Autumn gives way to what passes for winter in the Bay Area.
