Default more everyday life Kawaza village images

this is a lady making "shima" (don't hold me to the spelling) it's basically maize / corn that has been ground down and then stirred with hot water over a fire and has semolina type consistency - it is there staple food for lunch and dinner which they have with different relishes to liven it up - we were treated to a village lunch although as guests they also slaughtered and served us chicken with ours - (no GM rubbish there) with a vegetable dish made of pumpkin & spinach leaves

this gentleman was putting a new roof on his house

this guy was lighting a hand rolled cigarette - our guide assured us it was tobacco as anything else would be frowned on and illegal there - I think this one of my favourite shots from the village

some things are the same wherever you go in the world now!

Thanks for looking - please let me know when you are bored with these as I could post images from the village for a week!

Thank you Mike - it would be nice to see more of this type of photography on DPS - whether from tourists or locals

These are wonderful captures Sheldon, you really managed to show the everyday lives of these lovely villagers. You have done a brilliant job with them my friend. Great work.

Dave.
