Default Right in my own back yard

I Love to take pic of old buildings, churches etc...I'd forgotten, not since grade school had I been to the San Antonio missions, and they're only like 20 minutes from my house. There is a mission trail, I believe 5 of them, all within a few mile of one another...then you get into downtown and the last one is the Alamo. We didn't make the Alamo this time, but got a few of the these. I'd like to go back on a weekday (and when its a lot cooler)

An excellent set Stella, I like your location, your commentary and the four wonderful pictures. You've captured them beautifully, and I like them all, with perhaps the first and second being my favourites. I enjoyed these, thank you

Thank you for the kind words ;-) I must say I was quite surprised when we came upon these Missions, as they are stiuated in a pretty bad part of town, so its rather odd to see them pop up amongst shacks and old cars up on blocks etc...My favorite was San Jose, it was kind of neat, as they had a service going on at the time, and you could hear Mexican music in the background as well...We missed the turn off for Mission Concepcion, and they say that is the most beautiful of the Missions...so I need to put that on the list ;-)

I especially love the first two, because you captured enough to tell these are old, weather-beaten missions - yet there's this vibrant, colorful life around them. The contrast makes the shots for me.

Thank you all ;-) I truly appreciate all the compliments! I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome of the shots. The first pic, not so much, that, was taken with my borrowed E-510 (I don't think that camera can take a bad pic LOL) but the rest of the shoot I used my old E-10, as it has a nice wide angle lens, and for an old camera I have to say it does a pretty good job. It's old and slow ;-) but Olympus made a pretty good little camera with that one. Maybe an Olympus person can tell me, the E-10 comes with a 9-36mm 2.0 lens on it, why do you suppose they did that? Any idea?

All of these are beautiful shots. I can't pick a favorite. I like them all.
