Cool Manipulating Bokeh

I was reading a post on here from waaayyyy back in 2007 I think it was, about how to cut a shape out of some cardboard and put it over your lens and your bokeh will take the shape of what you have on your lens.
So I decided to try this out and here are my results.
I used LED Christmas light to get the bokeh.

I don't know if it would work with the way you are using the lights. They must be behind the subject you are focusing on to create the bokeh effect. Plus I was using the 50mm lens at f1.8??

Maybe try to play around and see what you can get.

I remember reading an article like this some time ago, never tried it, but I like your results Tony! Trying new stuff is what it's all about Right? I'd be interested in seeing your templates.
Thanks for sharing these
Michael.

Thanks Michael, What I did is take the lens cap from the 50mm and traced around it. I then cut it just a tad smaller than the line I traced. I drew about a 1/2 inch heart right in the middle of it and then cut it out with an Xacto knife. The round cardboard disk when trimmed correctly will go right into the end of the lens and the threads (for the lens hood) will hold it in place.
And that's all there is to it.
There is no limit to the shapes the possibilities are endless LOL
