Default At last captured - the elusive Joey!

Finally, Joey agreed to let me take a few shots of him to let me practice my lighting techniques. Here are two of my favorites. Thanks so much for looking!

Handsome young man

Those killer eyes!

Wonderful catch lites focus exposer and composition What shutter speed and aperture did you use and lite posiiton. How are you triggering the ab400 and did you use a reflector to fill. What was the light position and did you use shoot thru or reflective umbrella and where did you place it. Im learning with my Ab800 also and having fun learning.

Thanks so much! Let's see, to answer your questions:

For the first one:
Exposure: 0.006 sec (1/160)
Aperture: f/1.8
Focal Length: 50 mm
ISO Speed: 200

For the second one:
Exposure: 0.01 sec (1/100)
Aperture: f/1.8
Focal Length: 50 mm
ISO Speed: 200

The AB400 is wired to my camera with a sync cord and a hot shoe adaptor. I've been shooting at really low power, between 1/16 and 1/32. AB is about 45 degrees to the subject camera right and I have a huge 5-in-one reflector 90 degrees on camera left (white side of the reflector). I didn't get the umbrella, I got a large softbox instead.

Hope that answers your questions, and thanks so much for your comments!

they look like you've been doing it awhile and not figuring it all out Susan.. same as the ones of Victoria .. really well balanced and excellent choice of bgs. Now since you don't have to rely just on natural light and relfectors, Joey can help you carry and set up all the new stuff

It's great to see you adding to your business and I know the new lighting will pay for itself in no time.. I'm happy for you !

/hug

Vin
