Default Rafting down Okere Falls, NZ

These are by all means not that great but I wanted to share them with you anyway. I am still learning how to drive the D90 and have to invest in a few extra filters, lens, etc but here are my first action shots.

Okere Falls, NZ

I was just in time to capture these guys rafting down the Okere Falls, NZ

What do you mean not that great? That first shot is simply dreamy! And the follow-ups are just plain awesome. You captured the action very well, you can feel the tension of nosing down those falls very clearly in these. Great work.

WOW! Angela. These are awesome shots...not much perfecting needed cherub. I'm glad I wasn't in that craft, they would have heard me in England. LOL

Interesting! I could not tell the scale on the 1st shot and then the 2nd came along....much bigger than I thought it was. I love white water rafting ...It is pure exhilaration. I think that these shots are very good.....the bright whites can be knocked off some with a polarizer....but you have a great set here that rivals anything that the whitewater people can provide as far as photos from the trip down the river.

Hi Angela, Well if you think these are not the best then I think you are wrong. You have captured action, have sharpness, good composition and softened the water, especially in the first one. You have already done very well with a new camera and with the skills that you have, adding more lenses, filters etc will provide you more options when taking fotos.

Well done and keep it up. Cheers, Bernz

Thanks Keenlearner, England would be hearing me too. When I saw the guys afterwards I thought how brave they were especially when they were twice my age.

Thanks for your comment Pj, I am buying a polarizer today. You could feel the exhilaration just watching these guys, but I'm not as brave as they are I'd be affraid of the raft tipping like one of them did.
