Default There still some signs of life as things cool down

The walking trail where I sometimes go for a shoot during lunch was apparently cut so what was 5 foot high grasses is now probably 8 inches high.....Here along the perimeter, I searched in the highers grasses for signs of life.....I found this sleepy grasshopper sunning on this spent sunflower

DSC_2412

I also saw this vine nearby growing up some of the dead stalks of sunflowers and other plant life...although I couldn't get the white just right, I liked the leaves against that brown background

DSC_2415

I was so pleased to find a ladybug still hanging around on this spent Queen Anne's Lace

DSC_2447

The thistle blooms were so bright in the original photo that I darkened the frame to generate a new look

DSC_2459

Hope you enjoyed these shots from the Winchester walking trail

Oh, geez, Patrick. These are really great. I especially love the Lady Bug pic. Would you mind if I copied it to my computer? I love lady bugs and never seem to see them here. Great set, all of them.

I'm very partial to your ladybug photo. It's that golden, fall-like palette of colors that are just so pleasing!
