These are way over-due for posting! I know, a lot can be said about them, but I had fun taking them.
I learned some very important things: * Conventions are a GREAT place to get used to taking photographs of people (if you're a bit shy) * A pop-up flash doesn't do justice to a lot of things. * I needed to save up for a good flash xD Nonetheless, I had some fun opportunities while there. OK, so on to pictures! These were all taken with my 50mm f/1.8. I'll start with my four favorites. This man is a celebrity look-alike! A lot of people were pausing to re-think. And i REALLY liked the lighting. It sort of gives a mood to the image. ![]() One of my friends suggested adding some vignetting to this, and I'm considering it. But I still like it as it is! ![]() Some folks go all out with their costumes. this person did a GREAT job. I'm glad I waited a moment because he changed positions slightly but that made all the difference. ![]() Finally, I think this is my favorite of all the pictures I snapped. I guess she didn't expect my mask (or was it that she didn't expect to see the camera up?)

Thanks!
It was my first ever convention, and my first real foray with my nifty fifty. So needles to say, it was quite the experience! I'm already planning to go to more in the spring. Hopefully I'll be able to get more decent shots there. |
