Default Truck Pulls

Taking the scenic route one day when I was about 80 miles from home. Looking for things to photograph like old abandoned houses and such. I ran across this bar, out in the middle of nowhere really, & they were having truck pulls. So I pulled in & caught the tail end of the competition. Processed these with Nik Efex. Trying for dramatic.

I think this is my favorite

That's what I was shooting for. I used the "Tonal Contrast" filter within Efex. That's the type of filter you would use to bring out all texture & lines of a persons face. You've seen it, it's those portraits where you say, "Wow, that face has some miles on it & I'll bet it has some stories to tell!".

Thanks sHIMUZUKi, I'm glad you like them.

Hi Dave. I agree with Peeperita in that your post work really enhances the feel/ mood of this event. Great contrast and colour work.

While I personally don't like the "hard edged" look in general...I think it works for these shots. Really makes the trucks look bold.

Hi Dave - the effect adds that tough feel to your images (Ford would love this - I think their truck slogan is "Built Tough.") .. nicely done

I actually thought about using that as a title, "Built Ford Tough".

Thanks for all the nice responses. Much appreciated!
