Default A short trip to the park + Bonus

took my dog to the park, we got chased out by swarms of mosquitoes, but not before I got a few shots .. this was a 3 shot varied exposure which I combined in photomatrix, I've just started to explore and experiment with HDR ( I've only showed one or two so far )

Resized-HDR Park

it's not evident in this result how the process brought out not only details, but also balanced the lighting..So I thought it might be interesting to show the middle exposure original

I'm still getting the hang of it, it doesn't always come out so good .. but I really liked how this one came out.

And .. Since I've been thinking of his Gull shots the last few days, I decided to drive to the beach and see if I could catch a few shots of them .. once again, Bandit and I were attached by aggresive blood sucking vampire mosquitoes ... so I only got a few ..

But the very best thing I admire about Beachcomber is his creativty, I decided to go the artistic way and put something different together with one of the shots I got.

There are many things I could type about Beachcomber the photographer, but I's rather just submit a simple image to pay respect for always reminding me to look for what is right in front of me. So Thanks

/cheers
Vin

I think that you are getting the hang of the photomatrix program. It made a huge difference in that shot. I love the more vibrant one!! Just think, soon it will be to cold for those little bloodsuckers. Such a big yippee eh ??? (not ~ I love summer and am sour that it is gone)

Wow, what a different between photos. The first is so vibrant! Especially for one trying to out race the mosquitoes. One thing I'm noticing is how important that foreground shadow is to the effectiveness of your photo. Not sure why--diagonal line? Directs your eyes to the water? Something. The bonus shot is a lovely tribute to Beachcomer. And, this is a minor detail, but I really like the font. Nicely done!

Vin my dear heart!

I adored your original version, and I adored your tribute to Mr. Beach. Both.......beautiful!

I was unaware of your HDR longings and I have to say that normally I'm not a huge fan....but you did it so subltely that when I saw it as the first image in your thread I didn't realize it was an HDR. Very, very nicely done.... this is one I'd be proud to hang on my wall, if I were you! And I know what you're thinking....and you're being too hard on yourself....Vin, ignore what minute faults you might find and enjoy it for the rest of us.

It's lovely.

Great work as always Vin. I'm really having to dig back in the site now to find all the photos I want to see. Yours are some I look for.
