Default Strange Still Lifes

I've been away while due to school. Here are two shots I took today when I was bored. I think they are really strange subjects (an apple and a roll of paper) but I think that they look pretty cool.

Camera - Canon Rebel XS
Lens - Sigma APO 75-300 (Gold Stripe)
Focal Length - 250mm
Shutter Speed - 1/8 sec.
Aperture - f/5.6

Default strange subjects

I agree!

Strange subjects but cool, the second on in a really unexpected way. I think it's because it you gave it an almost abstract look. Good work!

I think that the light spots on the roll of paper add to the natural abstract feel of it.

Nice job. I like the first one the best. The B&W is a nice touch, and I like the reflections in the first one. I've never tried really tried any "still life" (or at least I don't think I have), so it's all cool to see that kinda thing.
Have a great day!
