Default Toronto City Shots (My first official try at pictures)

Hello all,

I've owned a Rebel XSi for around a year now, dabbling in photography in small ways. Yesterday I took a very serious walk downtown to try my hand at proper shots.

Armed with a lens a friend sold me (50mm f/1.8 thingie) I took some black and white photos that I though looked significantly better than most pictures I've taken previously.

I've come here to get some constructive feedback from a place understanding newbies

All these photos remain untouched except for some contrast changes.

...and proper they are!! Excellent shots! B/W seems to be hard to pull of for me. You've captured it very well! Great contrast and composition. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice. I love B&W, always have. The second one really has a cool, abstract quaility to it. Keep up the good work.
