Default evolution of a photograph #5

Where does one find a photograph? How about behind a Kroger grocery store? The first shot is the corner of the store where they store all of their empty pallets and it is where they keep their dumpster......not an attractive site at all....all all the high wild growth to the left does not look so promising either......look straight ahead at the middle telephone pole in the high stuff......That's where we are going....

Hmm, here we are a little closer......sprinkled about is some Queen Anne's lace, some blue flowers that never turn out blue when I take pictures of them, some berries, and alot of sneeze inducing goldenrod etc.....not great stuff but maybe some compositional practice, maybe a bug will pop out...who knows.

DSC_2196

Wait a minute here......what's that just over the hill there....that purple stuff......ahh a flowering bush.....I am in luck today.....but do I really want to trample through all of that just for a picture? I think for a minute......then it's "to heck with it" and I plow forward towards the potential prize.....

DSC_2197

once there and with a few sticky burrs clinging to my pants, I begin composing and shooting and I notice not one but two butterflies giving these blooms a workout so I begin to try to capture them (photographically). I got a few nice shots of them sitting and extracting nectar but I am posting this one where it is about to land......That's where and how I got my shot.......Hope you enjoyed trampling through the weeds with me......note....spare a few minutes to pick off all of the sticky burrs before you go back to work. You still have to maintain a professional appearance!

Great little story and showing us that you can find some wonderful things to photograph, if you look further. Well done Patrick - that last shot is tops. Cheers, Bernz

Your stories give me inspiration. I often look around and think, "wow, there's nothing here for me to take pictures of at all!" but now I'm starting to see things differently. Thank you so very much for the inspiration.

Awesome job. I've really enjoyed the evolution stories. Makes me look harder for my pics.
