Default Show Us Your America

Here's a shot I put together for a photo contest. I shot the eagle at the San Diego Wild Animal Park. I shot the flag at the Grand Canyon. The amazing thing about this eagle shot, is that it was part of a Bald Eagle rescue program. It was sent to San Diego to heal after being injured in the wild. I chose this eagle shot because, although you can't tell from the picture, as part of a rescue program, it represents the healing that the USA has been undergoing since 9/11. I know this is an international board, but I think this has universal appeal!

I combined the two to make it look like the eagle was watching over our stars and stripes. Ben Franklin has always been an idol for me, so I added one of his all time greatest quotes.

If you like this picture, and you are not participating in this contest, I'd sure appreciate some votes from my fellow DPS brothers and sisters.

Here's a URL to my pic in the contest Show Us Your America :: Photo Entry - Freedom Watch

Thanks much!!!

I love it! The layering is well done - there's a subtle "amber waves of grain" going on, too. At least for me

Default Much thanks!

Thanks very much for the nice comments. I entered this contest so my wife could have a chance to get a nice tidy shopping spree at Aaron Brothers....alas, and unfortunately...it's not so I can win a car...(sigh)

Thanks again for your votes.

Thanks much, Martha. In fact, I only just learned how to layer in PS Elements about 10 minutes before I did this one! Thanks again!

Thank, Mike. I appreciate the comments! The combination seemed obvious to me, so I gave my best shot at trying to layer them. Thanks again!
