Default why I love shooting children

Yesterday afternoon I went to visit my brother, his wife and their children. Children are definetly great models, because of their spirit, cuteness and all the fun you get while framing them. This one's my favorite from yesterday:

Actually this one was without any postprocessing. And it's the jpeg as it's produced by the camera. I shoot raw+jpg but recently couldn't force myself to work on raws, mostly I just take camera produced JPEGs. Should be less lazy, I know

their is only one thing i would wish different is that instead of opting for a well centered photo i would have lowered the camera to the left bottom to have more of the kid's arm and also maybe to even give more "space" for him to look into and also the mom's head is a bit distracting nothing you can could have really changed but still it does take a bit of interest from the subject. after all candids are hard to take and i give you the thumbs up for capturing the moment anyways i like the colors they look great, the funny face is really cute Good pic!

Thanks a lot The colors was something that caught my eye here too, that's why I decided to share this shot, even that...
I knew the composition should be diffrent. And I'm the only one to blame here. Only problem was, the child's heads usually spin around too fast for guy like me to move adequately

Well, I guess the distracting part of mom's head I could crop in postprocessing... but this cuts off the arm and makes the photo look like... something cropped. Well, it's a good proof that if there's one thing that can't be fixed in postprocessing, it's the composition

You know, in any other forum the title of this thread would have raised some eye-brows and perhaps a few calls to the authorities...

Cute kid! Of all of the pictures I've ever taken, I think about 90% of them are of my kids. They really do make excellent subjects and they create so many diverse photo opportunities. I've come to really enjoy just watching them do their own thing and trying to capture as much of it as I can. Candid shots are far better than posed shots when it comes to children, I think.
