Default Wind Surfers + bonus shot

I often stop to clean my lenses before I start my shooting at this one parking lot at a beach. Playing music and drinking a coffee or ice tea, I actually enjoy it.. Sunday I thought I would take a few shots of some wind surfers

Not overly interesting photos, I did find it a little funny how one guy, who had a really expensive wetsuit and a killer windsurfing rig took about 15 minutes to get set up and get going on his board,

IMG_7143

and then there was an older guy, who got out of his pickup truck, put his old faded board and sail together and just walked to the water , got on and sailed out

IMG_7163

Since I am always thinking about photography, it got me thinking of an analogy of the two surfers and preperation .. Sometimes I will double check everything, make sure my backpack includes everything I'll need.. I'll bring an extra water bottle just in case and even a small camping chair for long sits..

and other times I just grab the camera, throw a lense on it and go, with nothing else.. I suppose it's all about the mood at the time... but in the end, it's really just about shooting photos and just about Windsurfing

it can be as simple or complicated as I want it to be. I guess I fit both types .

Bonus Shot ... Inspired by Jakester-Dave

he's really got me forming shots of them from good angles and good BG's ..yes, the flower has to be pretty .. but that's just half of it.. Thanks Bud ! a minor tribute to you for inspiring !

thank you for taking time to view

Vin

Great commentary on a nice series of shots, and of course a beautiful flower, btw, what is the name of this flower?

Aww shit Vin, I was just going to bed and saw this post and I feel I have to comment first. lol only kidding mate, it was worth staying up for. You just raised the bar bro. The windsurfer pics are amazing. You have so much detail in there and the contrasting colours with the sky and the sea are awesome. I'm no expert on sea pictures but I'm sure when our friend Steve sees these he will tell you something similar. Wonderful work with these buddy. Now, the flower. Wow, if I inspired this one Vin, you certainly pulled off the work with the camera. It is gorgeous. It's so nice that we work off each other. I have to go to the seaside now and with your inspiration, I'm sure we will do a great job.
Thanks Vin for all the help and inspiration. We are a great team here at DPS and with members like yourself, it is a pleasure to learn.

All the best Bro

Dave.

I really like the way you pulled the first two together in the 3rd! .. the last as a tribute to our kind friend and member was a nice touch, we have to keep him humble before he morphs back into Jakestar (yes guys we're waiting..) .. good on you Vin.. Ian

Nice shots, Vin. some days we plan ahead, plan for everything, think everything out, and some days we just do what feels good. I think there's a place for both

Nice shots, Vin! Great job on the focus, as I am sure they were moving along pretty good. And that bonus shot was just that a real bonus. Keep up the great work, Vin!

Nice shots, Vin! Great contrast between the windsurfers and the rest of the frames.

Hi Vin - another classic presentation here .. love them all .. I always have a lens mount on one of my cameras and that will be the workhorse for that day .. I like your analogy though
