This is from a small selection of shots I just got around to postprocess but were taken in Japan in Sept 2008.
Himeji Castle is a Japanese castle complex comprising 83 wooden buildings (original still standing strong!). It is also known as: White Heron Castle. It was registered as the first Japanese National Cultural Treasure by UNESCO World Heritage Site and a Japanese National Cultural Treasure in December, 1993 and is the most visited castle in Japan. Wow. I love Japanese and Chinese architecture. All of these are great, but I love the second shot the best.

Thanks Flavio! These are all Great shots, I've been to Japan several times in the last few years, I love their culture and the beauty of the Country. Nara is one of my favorites. You captures are wonderful and I do like the perspective in the second one.
Thanks for sharing these Michael.

I really appreciate your kind comments. The far east is just so rich in photo-opportunities. Aestetic beauty can be found literally everywhere.

A charming selection of pictures and a beautiful ordered and proud culture whose heritage and history one could never tire of. The first is my favourite as we respectfully view Himeji Castle from within our own room. Excellent pictures from what have been a memorable visit

I heard Nara is worth while visiting but I had no time to do that. I hope one day I will be able to go back to Japan and visit other places on that region, too.
