Photography tells a story. So what's the story. I often work in the city of Detroit and this is not an unusual sight. The sad part of this story, the part that is hard to show, is the lives of the people effect by this destruction. Those who lived there have been displaced (or worse) and those who live nearby will have to live within the sight of this horrific destruction. The destruction seen here is not new, and will remain this way for years in many cases. I've met many of the people living in these situations and they are wonderful people. When will the city government wake up and realize that they have a problem. I'm not trying to ruin your day, just using my photography skills to tell another kind of story.

IT is sad.
From a social aspect - it is better to get these houses demolished and the land cleared than to have these derelict houses that become crime hideouts. I am in a different part of the world, but this reality is everywhere and the best thing you can do is get local councilors to activate a by-law that mandates the city to demolish! Better grass than that dump |
